Terms & Conditions

Bookings and Refunds

As a small outfit, we must ask that you pay in full at the time of booking. Please note that, should you cancel, course fees are non-refundable.

In the unlikely event that the Retreat must cancel a booking, we will give you the choice of re-booking on another date or receiving a full refund within 7 days. If you chose to re-book, the course must be the same value as the original booking. If we must cancel, we cannot pay your travel or other costs.

Our liability to you is, in all cases, limited to the course fee you have paid.

Travel insurance

We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover potential losses from a cancellation. You should ensure that any policy you take meets your needs (i.e. read the small print!)

At our discretion, you may be able to transfer your booking to another course or retreat day. If the fee for the new booking is less than the fee for the original booking, we will refund you the difference less an administration charge of £10. We will normally accept transfers up to six weeks before the original booking date.

Changes to the programme

The Retreat reserves the right to make changes to the advertised programme and tutors, but will do so only if absolutely necessary. In the unlikely event of a tutor cancellation, we will endeavour to replace the tutor with someone of similar experience, and give you as much notice as possible. You will have the choice of re-booking on another date, provided you give notice within 7 days of our email notifying you of the change. Refunds cannot be offered.

For the benefit of all

The Retreat is a nurturing and supportive environment that relies on the courtesy and tolerance of all participants and tutors. We therefore ask that you are thoughtful and respectful of other attendees. The Retreat reserves the right to refuse a place and / or to exclude from a course any person who behaves in an abusive or disruptive manner or engages in any discriminatory conduct. No refund will be given if exclusion is made for these reasons.

Damage and cleaning

The Retreat is a family home and we ask attendees to treat it with care and respect. We will seek reimbursement for any damage caused to the Retreat, or excessive cleaning required as a result of your attendance.

Please note that with the exception of guide dogs, pets are not permitted anywhere at the Retreat.

However, please be aware that we have friendly family dogs and while every effort will be made to ensure that they will not be on the premises during course and retreat days, if you have allergies please let us know before booking.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the Retreat, and only in designated smoking areas outside.

The Retreat’s courses and retreats are only open to people aged 18 and over. In exceptional cases, we may be able to make special arrangements for those under 18, but will need to speak with you in detail first.

Privacy and Data Protection

By booking, you agree that we may collect and store personal information about you and your interactions with the Retreat. This includes: your personal contact details; gender; details of your booking and booking history, including any access and dietary needs; records of payments (not including credit/debit cards numbers, etc.) We do not store payment card details. We will use this information to communicate with you about your booking and we may, unless you tell us otherwise, communicate with you occasionally about our work and other courses we may offer. We never share or sell information about our course participants with any third party, either in aggregate or in individual form. We will comply with all relevant Data Protection legislation.  Please see our Privacy Policy.

The Retreat cannot accept responsibility for any loss, damage or expense sustained by attendees as a result of an event or circumstance whether arising from natural cause, human agency, or otherwise beyond our control.
