I am the founder of the Cambridge Writing Retreat. In setting up the Retreat I wanted to create the sort of environment I appreciate, and crave. Somewhere quiet and restful; a place with access to established writers and poets to inspire and guide in a supportive way.
I have an MA in (Prose) Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia (2012), and am a published, prize-winning, poet. I am working on my first poetry collection — which may take many more years yet, but I’m fine with that. I am a member of the National Association of Writers in Education.
I love bringing people together, and setting up this Writing Retreat has been a cherished ambition for many years. I am an experienced host, and also a qualified life coach and mentor. I love the idea of helping to nurture talent. The venue is my home. It is both beautiful and convenient – offering writers the ability to ‘check out,' in a secluded setting without the travel and inconvenience that 'remoteness' can bring. Most importantly, it is a place where you will find encouragement and comradeship, good food, nice fires and the mental space to just get on and write.
